Historic century-old North Texas building, former music venue to be demolished

The 104-year-old building has been bought by a developer and is slated for demolition in the coming weeks.
“DALLAS — The Lizard Lounge, an iconic Dallas music venue, closed four years ago, and now, the historic building that housed the venue is scheduled to be demolished.
Next Level Events, a Dallas-based music events company, posted about the sale of the building, located at 2424 Swiss Ave., on Facebook this week.
With heavy hearts, It has come to our attention that the beloved former property of 2424 Swiss Avenue has been sold to a developer and is now scheduled for imminent demolition,” the post reads. “We expect this to take place in the next few weeks. If you wish to pay your last respects, now is the time.”
